I'm a AC Machanic in Punjab, Mai aksar logo ko suggest krta rehta hu k AC ko 16, 17, 18 degree pe chlane ki bjaye 27,28 degree pr hi chlaye, is se unki bijli ki bcht bhi hogi aur heat bhi km produce hogi.
Bt aapki is vdo se mujhe aur bhi boht boht boht kuchh seekhne ko mila, ab mai aur bhi ache trike se smja skta hu.

I'm proud that despite being financially capable of using AC, I haven't installed one that too in a humid polluted metro city. I'm not an engineer or scientist but already aware about the reasons for too much warmer weather what Mr Sonam said

And start using FAN if temperature is 32 or less.

There was a factory in my district but people protested and stopped it when I was child . So I don't see smoke coming out of factories here but when I travel around I just get shocked with the pollution smoke of factories. I thank all those people who shut down that factory. We have tiger reserve here and jungle here.

People must start commuting on bicycles for local movement and public transport for further traveling.
Using minimum water for bathing is also important.
Being a vegetarian.
Saving water in each course of action.
Using water coolers instead of Air conditioners for their houses.
Making their houses naturally cool.
I do all these since past 25 Years.

I think people cannt do it practically I know foregin people do use this but they have good sidewalks and proper extra roads for cycle traveling and the temp is not that great in some parts too
And about being vegetarian food chain need to be in balance I'm persnoly a vegetarian
1)Thermal comfort are different in different region. Use it effectively.
2) use cotton clothes. It has evaporating advantage and more comfortable.
3) use fans. It can cool down our body by 6°c..
4) using air conditioner and fans effectively can reduce excessive electricity use.. (72%)

Sir, I work in a corporate office in NCR and here offices keep the AC temperature too cold via centralised air conditioning that lot of people keep a jacket/hoodie inside office itself to wear (if needed).
And whenever we complain abt this to management some or the other office employees (mostly males) will come forward and will say we feel too hot in summer’s and we need this cool temperature to continue and if anyone is feeling too cold here…you can go ahead and wear some jacket etc. It’s kind of an office harassment which continues in every office and no one cares abt it.
Fr, 😭 even in our classrooms too same pathetic behaviour by some.
They literally put temp. on 18° and it gets freakin cold that eventually becomes unbearable in 1.5 hr lecture.

Gov need to set regulations for ac companies, company need to set minimum threshold limit based on geographic weather. This minimum limit threshold can be adjusted in ac machine based on outside city weather. For controlling such things there should be strict guidelines, if someone not following, there should be penalties for it and this penalties money can be used for planting more trees in and creating more lakes in the cities.
In my office, mostly females want the temperature to be set very low. Most males are comfortable with even a fan. 😂
It's not about male or female. It's about attitude. People just need to become aware that even at 29 or 30 degrees we can be comfortable with fan ON at speed 1 or 2.
But yes, Government needs to make a law mandating that in air conditioned spaces temperature limit has to be set at 27 or 28 so that everyone feels comfortable.
I have also observed that in airports and malls they keep the temperature too low...people start feeling cold. Why. There is no need.
Please forward this in your office group. Maybe 20-30% will understand. Atleast the probability will increase.

Ac's max setting is 30°c, i always use airconditioner at 28°C with fan it works well.

I have been using this approach (AC on 27/28 and Fan on speed 2-3) since family agreed to go for AC. Still, after about mid night we feel cold and we switch off the AC about early morning. I am in Delhi. Great to find this approach is aligned to your suggestions Dr. Wangchuk.
I'm from Chamoli, Uttarakhand and few years back..we wouldn't even use fans everyday... but this year it was soaring at 35 to 38 degrees.. we were not able to sleep...even at night... Lot of forest fire and deforestation is the main reason

This is exactly what I practice, AC initially I put it on 26 for half an hour and then to 28 degrees, with ceiling fan running . Room temperature is very comfortable in summer.
These are all feel good solutions and can never be implemented on a wider scale without government intervention.

I am from mumbai and we keep our AC at 26°C at night (During summer time) . For lowering 1°C of house 🏠 using AC,we increase 2°C of our environment temperature🌡️.So I have decided to use AC only during extreme heat waves and keep it at 26°C .
